Garage Door Spring Repair
How do I know my spring is broken?
A loud bang from the garage, a door that won't open or feels very heavy, a visible gap in the spring above the door, or an opener that hums but barely lifts the door.
How long do garage door springs last?
Standard springs are rated for about 10,000 cycles, which is several years of normal use. High-cycle springs last much longer.
Should I replace both springs?
On a two-spring door, yes in most cases. The other spring has the same wear and usually fails soon after.
Can I open the door with a broken spring?
No. The door is extremely heavy and can slam shut. Leave it closed and call us.

Why won't my opener respond to the remote?
Dead remote batteries, a remote that needs reprogramming, a lock button pressed on the wall control, or a failing logic board. We test each one.
Repair or replace my opener?
If the opener is under about 10 years old and the problem is a remote, sensor or gear, repair usually makes sense. Older units with motor failure are often better replaced.
